In-line Stitching Systems

Stitching units, installed directly on a printing press are used in newspaper-, commercial offset machines and also in rotogravure printing machines.
The latest generation of stitching systems produced by Swedish company Tolerans AB achieves an efficiency of 110 000 copies per hour and can be obtained even with formats that require four stitching heads.
The stitching systems either come as units connected mechanically to the press or as separately servo-driven units.
Tolerans’ stitching systems operate under the two production modes, Straight or Collect, which means that the product is either stitched directly in one line e.g. under the former or stitched directly against the folding cylinder.
The user has the option of combining several straight stitchers that are placed under the former, so that individually stitched and inserted products may be completed right from the folder.
